This beautiful, scenic course winds through historic Sag Harbor Village, taking you past:
- Pierson High School: The school where Jordan graduated.
- The Harbor: A picturesque area along the course.
- NYS Lance Cpl. Veterans' Memorial Bridge: A loop over and back named in Jordan's honor.
- Oakland Cemetery: The resting place of our hero.
Remembering Jordan Haerter
Jordan Haerter grew up in Sag Harbor, NY. Key details include:
- Education: Graduated from Pierson High School in 2006.
- Military Service: Joined the Marines on December 1st, 2006, and served with 1st Battalion, 9th Marines.
- Heroism: Sacrificed his life to save 33 others during an attack in Iraq.
- Legacy: Remembered as Sag Harbor’s first battlefield loss since World War II.
Acknowledgements
Jordan and Cpl. Jonathan T. Yale posthumously earned the Navy Cross for Extraordinary Heroism, our Nation's second-highest award for valor in combat.
