🎉 Kick Off the New Year!

Join us for the 9th Annual Frozen Rails 5K & 10K in Midway, KY on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at 2pm. Kick off the new year with a healthy start at this run/walk event through the historic town of Midway. Our races will start/finish on West Higgins Street.

🏠 Race Day Headquarters

Location: Midway Baptist Church (Address: 121 S Winter St, Midway, KY 40347)
Packet Pickup: Onsite registration (cash or check) from 12:30-2pm
Facilities: Community center with indoor restrooms to stay warm

Commemorative T-shirt: Long-sleeved for all participants
Chip Timing: Provided by RaceRise
Awards: Overall & Age Group awards
Refreshments: Berserker Brew Coffee & hot cocoa, DJ, and a "Best Finish Line Photo" Contest

💖 Community Support

Partial proceeds will benefit the Midway Ministerial Association. The Midway Ministerial Association is a collaborative effort involving 7 Midway area churches who provide support and funding for those in need in their community.

☕ Warm Beverages

We are pleased to have Berserker Brew Coffee join us for the Frozen Rails. They will be serving coffee and hot chocolate to help keep you warm!

📦 Packet Pickup Options

Tuesday, 12/30/25: 12noon-3:00pm at J&H Running Company (197 Moore Drive, Lexington)
Wednesday, 12/31/25: 12noon-2:00pm at Midway Christian Church
Race Day (Thursday, 1/1/26): 12:30-1:45pm at Midway Baptist Church

Pickup for friends & family is encouraged. No credentials, paperwork or ID necessary. All local runners are encouraged to pick up Tuesday or Wednesday.

🏃‍♂️ Virtual Runner/Walker Opportunity

If you're not able to join us in person but still wish to support our cause, you can sign up as a Virtual Runner/Walker, and we'll mail your shirt and bib. Then (if you want) you can do your own Frozen Rails 5K or 10K on your own timeline in your own hometown. The cost of this option is $30.

🥫 Canned Good Drive

Bring canned or non-perishable goods to either packet pickup or the race, and we'll see that they get distributed to those in need through the Midway Food Pantry. Thanks for your support!

📸 Best Finish Line Photo Contest

Thanks to Jeff Laub from J.A. Laub Photography and Ruby Cline Eaton (A Runner's Mom & More Photography) who will be taking race photos at the Frozen Rails. We'll select one lucky winner of our "Best Finish Line Photo" to win a free registration to a future RaceRise race, so get ready for that finish line pic!
