🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Join us for the 9th Annual Frozen Rails 5K & 10K in Midway, KY on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at 2pm. Kick off the new year with a healthy start at this run/walk event through the historic town of Midway. Our races will start/finish on West Higgins Street.

🏛️ Race Day Details

Headquarters: Midway Baptist Church (Address: 121 S Winter St, Midway, KY 40347)
Packet Pickup: 12:30-2pm with onsite registration (cash or check)
Facilities: Community center with indoor restrooms to keep warm
Additional Features: Commemorative long-sleeved T-shirt and Chip Timing by RaceRise

Awards: Overall & Age Group awards
Beverages: Berserker Brew Coffee & hot cocoa
Entertainment: DJ and a "Best Finish Line Photo" Contest
Family Events: Untimed 1-mile fun run/walk and kids' 1K

🤝 Giving Back

Partial proceeds will benefit the Midway Ministerial Association, a collaborative effort involving 7 Midway area churches providing support and funding for those in need in their community.

☕ Coffee & Comfort

We are pleased to have Berserker Brew Coffee join us for the 2025 Frozen Rails. They will be serving coffee and hot chocolate to help keep you warm!

📦 Packet Pickup Options

Tuesday, 12/30/25: 12noon-3:00pm at J&H Running Company (197 Moore Drive in Lexington)
Wednesday, 12/31/25: 12noon-2:00pm at Midway Christian Church
Thursday, 1/1/26: 12:30-1:45pm at Midway Baptist Church (race venue)
Pickup Information: Pickup for friends & family is encouraged. No credentials, paperwork, or ID necessary. All local runners are encouraged to pick up on Tuesday or Wednesday.

🌍 Virtual Runner/Walker Opportunity

If you're not able to join us in person but still wish to support our cause, you can sign up as a Virtual Runner/Walker, and we’ll mail your shirt and bib. Then (if you want) you can do your own Frozen Rails 5K or 10K on your own timeline in your own hometown. The cost of this option is $30.

🥫 Canned Good Drive

Bring canned or non-perishable goods to either packet pickup or the race, and we’ll see that they get distributed to those in need through the Midway Food Pantry. Thanks for your support!

📸 Best Finish Line Photo Contest

Thanks to Ruby Cline-Eaton who will be taking race photos at the Frozen Rails. We’ll select one lucky winner of our "Best Finish Line Photo" to win a free registration to a future RaceRise race, so get ready for that finish line pic!
