4th Annual Poker Run 5K

Event Overview

Join us for a TIMED 5K to support the Imagine North Port Cross Country &: Track &: Field Sharks.

Event Details

• Date: October 4, 2026
• Location: 6968 Reisterstown Rd, North Port, FL 34291
• Time: 8:00 AM at Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park
• Registration Deadline: Must register by September 26th to guarantee a Poker Run shirt

Important Information

• Registration Prices: Prices go up after September 26th
• Age Requirement: Participants must be 21+ to play poker.
• Open to All: Everyone is welcome to run. :)
• Event Style: This is a Texas Holdem' Style 5K event.

Packet Pickup

• Early Packet Pickup: October 2nd from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM at Il Primos.
• Race Day Packet Pickup: Begins at 7:00 AM at the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park.

Gameplay

• Collecting Cards: Participants playing poker will gather two playing cards from the table mid-race to complete their hand.
• Card Submission: Upon returning, runners will place their cards on the Check-In table.
• No Experience Needed: Participants do NOT need to know how to play poker to participate.
• Hand Evaluation: In the event of a poker hand tie, the fastest runner wins the hand. Straights over Flushes.

Awards

• Highest Poker Hand: Will receive a $100 gift card PLUS a Medal.
• Worst Poker Hand: Will receive a $75 gift card PLUS a Medal.
• 5K Awards: Top Male/Female Finisher awards will be presented immediately following the last runner.
• Age Group Awards: Top Three Male/Female Finishers in various age groups.

Post-Race Amenities

• Refreshments: Water will be provided for runners at the table mid-run.
• Food: Enjoy HOT DOGs when you finish along with chip and snack bars.

• Proceeds: All proceeds after expenses will go to the Imagine XC &: Track Team Boosters account.

Course Description

Start by running out of the park then turn around at the water stop/poker table receiving TWO CARDS then back to finish 3.1 miles. Course Map.

Reminders

• Card Collection: DO NOT FORGET TO pick TWO cards from the table set out by the Volunteers at the water stop.
• Card Submission: Runners returning will place their cards on the Check-In Table. Cards will then be stapled together and your name written on them.

Parking & Directions

• Parking: Available within the park by following the dirt path towards the big pavilion. Please refrain from parking on the residential side of Reisterstown Road/Estates Drive.
• Directions: Take Exit 182 from I-75 and head East. Follow Sumter Blvd. to Tropicaire Blvd. Turn left on Tropicaire Blvd. and turn right on Reisterstown Road. The park is at the curve of Reisterstown Road on the right.
