Event Overview

Welcome to the 28th Annual Jared Coones Memorial Pumpkin Run/Walk Event.

In Memory of Loved Ones

• Jared Coones: Jared was ten years old when he passed away on October 5, 1998, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia.
• Jayne Coones: His mother, Jayne, passed away on December 17, 2006, after a difficult fight with inflammatory breast cancer.
• Judy Porting: In December 2025, we also lost Judy Porting, Jared’s aunt, to leukemia.
• Our Loss: We miss them all deeply.

Event Purpose

• Honor Their Memory: This event is dedicated to honoring the memory of Jared, Jayne, and Judy, and all they stood for—love, faith, strength, and courage.
• Celebration of Lives: We come together each year to celebrate their lives and the time we were blessed to have them on this earth.
• Join Us: We hope you will join us in remembering and honoring them.
• Date & Location: The race will take place on October 10, 2026, at 14701 S. Brougham St., Olathe, KS.
