First Strides Allentown Summer/Fall 2026

Race Overview

A 10-week program to help you comfortably progress to a healthy habit of walking, jogging, or running at a pace that is right for you.

Program Structure

• Local Experts: Offering short fitness and wellness presentations on topics ranging from nutrition to what to wear to injury prevention.
• Warm-Up Exercises: Gentle warm-up exercises to prepare your body.
• Group Activity: Group walk/run determined by pace.
• Post-Workout Stretches: Exercises to cool down and promote flexibility.

Participant Information

• Age Range: Women from ages 12 to 112 are welcome to attend.
• Join Together: Participate with daughters, mothers, neighbors, co-workers, and friends.
• Health Approval: Participants are expected to have approval from their doctors to participate.
• Health Guidelines: Compliance with any pandemic or public health guidelines is expected based on local, state, and federal requirements.

Mentors

Our mentors are First Strides® graduates, Women’s 5K Classic committee members, and Lehigh Valley Road Runners (LVRR) members.

Workshop Details

• Location: Lehigh Parkway.
• Schedule: Tuesday nights, Thursday nights, or opt for both.
• Meeting Time: We meet in the evening at 6:15 pm.
• Program Duration: Tuesdays July 28 – September 29 and Thursdays July 30 - October 1.

Cost

Cost: $50 (early-bird special $45 until July 21) for a single night. $90 (early-bird special $85 until July 21) for both nights. Fee includes literature, workouts, mentoring/instruction, and graduation shirt (if earned by attending 7 out of 10 sessions).

Additional Information

Registration fee is non-transferable between people or locations and is non-refundable. Note: switching nights as make-up sessions for absences is not possible, but a permanent night switch is permitted.
