Runway 5K @ Memphis International Airport

Event Overview

Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) is excited to host its 2nd Annual MEM Runway 5K on September 19.

Event Highlights

• Unique Experience: Participants will have a chance to run on one of MEM’s runways and get a close-up view of aircraft landing and taking off.
• Airport Grounds: Experience the airport grounds and rare views of an airport that served nearly 5 million passengers in 2025.
• Cargo Hub: MEM ranks among one of the busiest cargo airports in the world.

Important Notes

• No Day-of-Event Registrations: There will be NO day-of-event registrations and NO area for spectators.
• Security Reasons: Only those registered will be allowed admittance for security reasons.
• Registration Requirement: All attendees (3 and older) of the event, including those who do not plan to run or walk the 5K course, are required to register for the event.
• Registration Deadline: Registration closes September 13th at midnight.

Race Participation

• Race Perks: Race participants will receive a T-shirt and a special finisher medal.
• Children Admission: Children 2 and under can enter without registration if accompanied by a registered guest.
• Foundation Support: Proceeds from the race will support the Memphis International Airport Community Foundation.
• Impactful Initiatives: The foundation focuses on civic engagement, education, sustainability efforts, health, and community-supporting initiatives.

Foundation Achievements

Over the years, the foundation has awarded over $300,000 in academic scholarships, provided unique educational and career development opportunities, provided essential items to underserved communities, and supported a wide range of impactful initiatives.

Participation Requirement

You must register as a runner to participate. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult.
