Helping Hands Hero 5K Run/Walk

Race Overview

Join us on August 22, 2026 (in person or virtually) as we raise funds for The Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation Helping Hands Initiative to provide necessary equipment that is not covered by insurance, such as but not limited to: safe standard car seats, electrical lines for ventilators, helmets and various adaptive equipment.

• Donate: Give our patients and Lerner school students at The Children’s Hospital for Rehabilitation a chance to participate on race day in the Kids Fun Dash or 1 Mile Walk with their caregiver.
• Opportunity: Many patients would love the chance to come out to the Zoo and show off their amazing progress in therapy sessions.
• Participation: Enjoy a day at the Zoo after the events!
• Options: Three options to choose from for sponsorship.

• $25 - Kids Fun Dash - patient and caregiver included in this price
• $30 - 1-Mile Walk - patient and caregiver included in this price
• $20 - Virtual Option - designed for patients that cannot leave the hospital to attend the race in person, with a special event at the hospital the day before the race.

Start Times

• 7:30 a.m.: Race Day Registration and Packet Pick Up
• 8:00 a.m.: Hero 50 yard dash for kids
• 8:30 a.m.: Sidekick 5k Run/Walk and 1 mile walk

Registration Fees

• Admission: Includes access to the Zoo for the entire day.
• Dri-Fit Race Tech shirt: Available for purchase.
• Hero 50-yard Dash/Roll: 2-10 yrs, 2-18 yrs with assistive devices - $15
• 5k Run/Walk: $25 before April 1st, $30 before June 1st, $40 through race day.

• 1 Mile Walk: $20
• Family: $75 - includes 2 adults and 2 children.
• Spectators: $10
• Age 2: Children under the age of 2 are free.

All mailed pre-registered entries must be received by Wednesday, August 21.

Awards (5K Only)

• Top Finishers: Top 3 male and female overall.
• Age Categories: Top three male and female in categories: 15 & Under, 16-22, 23-30, 31-39, 40-49, 50 & Over.
• Special Awards: Top CCCHR employee.
• Best Costume: 1 child and 1 adult.
