About this race
A Midsummer Night's Run
After seven years away, one of our favorite community traditions is making its return.
Join us on Saturday, August 22, for HomeTown Bank's Midsummer Night Run, an evening dedicated to family, fun, and supporting education in Blount County.
Event Highlights
- Fun for Everyone: Whether you're an experienced runner chasing a new personal best or joining friends for the 5K, there's something for everyone.
- Local Flavors: Enjoy local food truck favorites and live music.
- Family Activities: Take part in family-friendly activities and community celebrations.
- Fireworks Finale: Look to the sky for an unforgettable fireworks display at 9:00 PM.
Support Education
Every step, every cheer, and every participant helps support local education through two incredible organizations: OFFER (The Oneonta Foundation for Educational Resources) and the Blount County Education Foundation.

- 4:30 pm: On-site registration opens
- 5:00 pm: Fun Zone officially opens
- 5:45 pm: Late Registration & Packet Pickup closes for the 5K
- 6:00 pm: 5K Race Starts
- 7:00 pm: Fun Run Starts
- 9:00 pm: Fireworks finale

Registration and Policies
- Cancellation Policy: There are NO refunds of registration fees. Bib number transfers must be completed by August 20, 2026.
- Bandit Policy: Unregistered individuals are not permitted to run or walk in the events.
- Stroller Participation: Parents with strollers are asked to start from the back of the starting line.
- Special Notes: The event will occur rain or shine: extreme circumstances may lead to cancellations. Fees will be used as donations to local educational charities.
