Cox Running Club is proud to bring back one of the most historic running events in the DFW Metroplex!

After several years of lower participation, we seriously considered retiring this event. However, we believe some traditions are worth fighting for. Instead of canceling, we have decided to challenge ourselves, rebuild the race, and bring new energy to one of the oldest and most meaningful running events in North Texas.

The Lake Benbrook Half Marathon is recognized as the oldest half marathon in the DFW Metroplex, and we are excited to continue that legacy on Saturday, January 23, 2027.

Registration Information

For 2027, we are not only bringing back the Half Marathon and 5K, but we are also adding a brand-new 10K distance. Whether you are training for a spring race, looking for a scenic winter run, or simply want to be part of a long-standing DFW running tradition, this event is for you.

• 6:30 AM: Race Day Registration & Packet Pickup Opens
• 7:45 AM: Half Marathon Start
• 8:00 AM: 10K Start
• 8:10 AM: 5K Start

• 5K Run/Walk: Early Bird through December 1: $35: Pre-Registration December 2 – December 31: $40: Pre-Registration January 1 – January 22: $45: Race Day Registration: $50
• 10K Run/Walk: Early Bird through December 1: $45: Pre-Registration December 2 – December 31: $50: Pre-Registration January 1 – January 22: $55: Race Day Registration: $60

Participant Information

• Shirts: Participants will receive a men’s/unisex long-sleeve technical event shirt.
• Finisher Medals: All finishers in the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K will receive a custom finisher medal.
• Packet Pickup: Early packet pickup: TBA: Race day packet pickup will begin at 6:30 AM at Dutch Branch Park.
• Awards: Awards will be given in each distance to the Overall Male & Female, Overall Master Male & Female, and Overall Grandmaster Male & Female.
