Race Overview

What is Trax4Max?

• Honoring Max Barnett: Max was a long-time friend, Board member, and supporter of the YMCA.
• Avid Runner: He was instrumental in fundraising efforts and was an avid runner.
• Legacy: Max passed away in 2020 from glioblastoma but left a positive impact.
• Beneficiary: His wife, Whitney, chose the YMCA of the Shoals as the primary beneficiary of the proceeds. Learn more.

Amenities, Features, and Highlights

SWAG Option

• Shirt Guarantee: All runners registered before our T-shirt deadline on November 5th are guaranteed a race shirt.
• Limited Availability: After the deadline, shirts will be available in order of registration while supplies last.
• Alternate Size: If you preferred size is SOLD OUT, you may select another size or None option.

Medals and Prizes

• Awards: 5K Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Overall Male/Female.
• Masters Awards: 1st Overall Masters Male/Female (40+), GrandMasters (50+), Great GrandMasters (60+) receive trophies.
• Age Group Medals: Medals awarded to top three Male and Female finishers in age groups.

Aid Stations

• Station Locations: Two aid and recovery stations will be available.
• START/FINISH Aid: The aid station will have hydration, first aid, snacks, and electrolytes.
• On Course Aid: This aid station will provide water and first aid.

Additional Information

Early Packet Pick-up

• Date: Early Packet Pickup will be at Solid Rock Running Company on 11/25 from 10am-6pm.
• Race Day Pickup: You can pick up your race packet starting at 7:00 am on Thanksgiving Morning.

• Packet Pickup: 7:00-7:45 AM
• Announcements: 7:45 AM
• 5K Start: 8:00 AM
• Fun Run Start: 8:10 AM
• Awards: 9:00 AM

• Event Date: Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 26, 2026. 5K starts at 8:00 AM.
• Race Location: Starts in front of the First Baptist Church in historic Downtown Florence, AL.
• Packet Pickup Location: At Solid Rock Running Company or starting at 7:00 am on race day.
• T-shirts: Yes, included if registered before the T-shirt deadline.

Participation Details

• Are there trophies or medals? Yes, for top finishers and age group winners.
• Age Groups: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
• Walking: Yes, walkers are encouraged in the 1-mile event.
• Bib Pickup: Yes, you can pick up for your group with their names.
• Parking: Nearby businesses and street parking available at no cost.

Dogs and Strollers

• Dogs: Well-socialized and leashed dogs welcome.
• Strollers: Strollers are allowed but must stay at the back of the pack.

Course Regulations

• Allowed on Course: Runners, walkers, strollers, and restrained pets are welcome.
• Course Certification: Yes, the 5K course is timed and USA Track & Field certified.
