2026 Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Run and Family Walk presented by Highmark

Event Overview

The 2025 Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Run and Family Walk presented by Highmark is set for Sunday, October 5, at PPG Paints Arena! Join us for our in-person 6.6K Run or 3.3K Family Walk, or you can participate wherever you are in the Virtual 6.6K! All proceeds benefit the cancer research and patient care initiatives of the Mario Lemieux Foundation and the youth initiatives of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation.

Celebrate the start of the 2025-26 Pittsburgh Penguins season and support two great charities at the 2025 Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Run and Family Walk presented by Highmark – Let’s Go Pens!

Race Day Info

• In-Person Registration Note: If you registered for an in-person event and do not attend, we will not mail your race packet! You can transfer to the virtual event using your RunSignUp account through October 4.
• Last-Minute Registration: If you register after 9:00 AM on Friday, October 3 for an in-person event, you will need to come to the registration area at packet pick-up to have a race number assigned.
• Race Start Time: The 6.6K will start promptly at 8:00 AM on Fifth Avenue outside the EQT Gate at PPG Paints Arena: 3.3K walkers will line up behind runners and follow accordingly.
• 6.6K Raffle: All participants in the 6.6K Run, 3.3K Walk and 6.6K Virtual Event are eligible for raffle prizes and will automatically be entered to win. Winning bib numbers will be selected at random. Prizes will be mailed to winners.

Age Group Prizes

Age category awards for male and female competitors will be based on chip time in the following categories: 9 & Under, 10-13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & Over. Cash prizes will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Overall winners are not eligible for age category awards. Prizes will be mailed to winners. Virtual participants are not eligible for age group prizes. Age group awards will be mailed to winners. Virtual participants are not eligible for age category awards.

Race Transfers

Participants can transfer between events, including between in-person and virtual, for a fee of $10.00 (plus the difference in event cost) through Saturday, October 4. If you registered for an in-person event and do not attend, we will not mail your race packet!

Pre-Race Packet Pickup Time/Location

• Date: Saturday, October 4
• Time: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Location: F.N.B. Gate, PPG Paints Arena
• Parking: Parking is available in the East Lot Block B Lot across from the F.N.B. Gate. Tell the volunteer you are there for 6.6K Packet Pickup. See the FAQ page for additional parking information.

Participants are able to pick up packets for friends and family. Medals are not included with in-person race packets. Medals are received at the finish line!

• Raffle Ticket: Participants are entered to win great Penguins prizes and signed memorabilia in the Pittsburgh Penguins 6.6K Raffle. Winners will be selected virtually, and prizes will be mailed after the event.
• Ticket Offer: Special Penguins Ticket Offer for 6.6K Participants! This offer is good for exclusive ticket discounts to two games during the 2025-26 season: October 21 vs the Vancouver Canucks and October 27 vs the St. Louis Blues. The ticket link and additional information will be included in your confirmation email.

Virtual Participation

Can’t make it to Pittsburgh on October 5? Join the Virtual 6.6K and register to run your Virtual 6.6K anytime between your registration date and October 5.

Please make sure to enter your virtual race time by October 5 by following the instructions in your confirmation email. You are able to enter your time manually. You do not need to upload an image of your time! You must submit your time in order to receive the race shirt and medal. Virtual Race packets will be mailed the week of October 13. Shirt, medal and any earned fundraising prizes will be mailed together.
