About This Event

• First Ultra: The Kal-Haven Trail Run is the Southwest Michigan Hometown Ultra, a great first ultra for anyone looking to expand their running beyond 26.2 miles.
• Relay Options: Participants from all fitness levels can join as a 2-person relay team (duo) or 3-6 person relay team.
• Challenge Yourself: Shake off those winter cobwebs and run the relay with your best run friends!
• Scenic Route: The event takes place on a gently downhill run from “the Caboose” in Kalamazoo to South Haven.

Important Dates & Times

• Race Day: Saturday, April 11, 2026
• Solo Runners: 7:00 AM Start Time
• 2 Person Teams: 7:30 AM Start Time
• 3 to 6 Person Teams: 8:00 AM Start Time

Registration

• Payment Required: Must be made when you register: no payment accepted at packet pick-up or race day.
• No Paper Registrations: Please bring a device if registering on the day of the event.
• Commemorative Shirt: Registration must be received by March 22, 2026 to guarantee a shirt.
• Online Fees: Solo - $75: 2 Person Team - $55 per member: 3 to 6 Person Team - $45 per member.

• Saturday, April 11th: 6am – 7:45am at Kal-Haven Trail State Park, 4143 10th Street N, Kalamazoo, MI 49009

Event Information

• RRCA Championship Race: Solo runners start at 7:00 am over approximately 33.5 miles from Kalamazoo to South Haven.
• Drop Bags: Solo runners may have up to 3 drop bags.
• Return Shuttle: Two shuttles available at 1:30pm & 3:30pm sharp for a fee at registration.
• Team Information: 2 person teams exchange in Bloomingdale: 3 to 6 person teams must complete all legs as detailed.

Parking

Please note that parking is not allowed along 10th Street or the entrance to the 10th Street Trailhead. Overflow parking is available at Center Point Church with a shuttle service running from 6:30am to 8:15am.

The Fine Print

• Registrations: All registrations are final: no refunds or deferments will be given.
• Shirt Guarantee: Registration must be received by March 22 to ensure a commemorative shirt.
• Team Regulations: Coed 3-4 person teams must have at least one female: 5-6 person teams must have at least two females.
• Raffle Participation: Every participant will automatically be entered into raffles with prize drawings happening every 30 minutes from 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM.

Awards

• Finisher Medals: All finishers will receive a finisher medal.
• Age Group Awards: Awards will be broken down into 5-year age groups, with categories for Male, Female, and Non-Binary.
• Solo Event: Awards will be presented in specific categories.
• Relay Awards: 2 Person Relay and 3 to 6 Person Relay (overall only) will receive awards.
