About the Race

4th Annual Let's Make Pink Just a Color 5K & 1.5-Mile Fun Run/Walk In Loving Memory of Brittany Kelley, Founder

Brittany Kelley founded this race in 2023 with a simple but powerful dream: to make pink just a color again, not a symbol of pain or loss, but of love, hope, and healing. She passed away on September 28, 2025, after a courageous fight with stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer. She was a mother, a fighter, a community builder, and the heart behind this movement.

Her Legacy Lives On

• Participants: Over 400 participants in the first year
• Funding: Raised more than $38,000 in year one
• Growth: Surpassed $50,000 in 2024
• Honoring Brittany: Nearly $100,000 raised in 2025 with over 800 participants

Thanks to your support, we've been able to provide chemo port access shirts, surgical bras, drain holders, meals, gas cards, therapy sessions, and weekend getaways, all staying right here in Carteret County, just like she wanted.

This Year, We Run for Her, Again
