About the Event

The Conservancy and Community Trust of South Gulf Cove is thrilled to announce that we have officially added a 10K to our annual animal-rescue fundraiser!

Please join us for the 7th Annual SGC CCT Furry Scurry 5K–10K Walk/Run. This fun-filled, family-friendly, and dog-friendly event welcomes participants of all ages for a morning of fitness, friendship, community spirit, and support for animals in need.

• Chip-Timed: 10K Run
• Chip-Timed: 5K Walk/Run
• Mutt Strut: 1.5-Mile option available
• Virtual Option: Participate from anywhere

Charity Focus

It’s All About the Animals! The Conservancy and Community Trust of South Gulf Cove, Inc., is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and improving our community.

We are proud to organize this professionally chip-timed event to benefit local animal shelters, rescues, and animal-service organizations.

• Beneficiaries: Englewood Animal Rescue Sanctuary (EARS)
• Beneficiaries: Suncoast Humane Society of Englewood
• Beneficiaries: German Shepherd Rescue in Punta Gorda
• Beneficiaries: Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida

After-Race Celebration

Stay for the After-Race Celebration! The fun does not end at the finish line!

• Activities: Exciting raffles
• Auction: Silent-auction prizes available
• Fun: Community vendors and sponsors

Race-Day Schedule

• 10K: Start promptly at 8:00 a.m.
• 5K Runners: Start at approximately 8:20 a.m.
• 5K Walkers: Begin immediately after the 5K runners.
• Mutt Strut: Gather near the driveway after 5K walkers have cleared.

Packet Pickup

• Morning Pickup: Begins at 6:30 a.m. on race day
• Early Pickup: February 19, 2027, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• Location: SGC HOA Clubhouse, 14859 Ingraham Blvd.

Registration for the chip-timed 5K and 10K includes:

• T-Shirt: Official race T-shirt
• Race Bib: Custom chip-timed race bib
• Medal: Participation medal
• Awards: Eligibility for overall and age-group awards

Award Categories

Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers in various categories, including:

• Overall: Top male and female finishers
• Masters: Age 40 and older
• Grandmasters: Age 50 and older
• Senior Grandmasters: Age 60 and older

Registration Fees

• 5K Walk/Run: $30 through November 30, 2026
• 10K Run: $40 through November 30, 2026
• Mutt Strut: $25 through January 4, 2027
• Discount: $5 off for running club members and youths under 18

Virtual Race Option

If you cannot join us in person, you can still participate and support the animals! Every registered virtual participant will receive an official race T-shirt and finisher medal by mail.
