About this race

Event Details

  • Date: October 10, 2026
  • Time: 10am, (race meeting at 9:40)
  • Location: Griffin Bike Park, 10700 Bono Rd, Terre Haute, IN 47802
  • Contact: Email, Instagram

Race Overview

  • Description: The Triple Scoop has a single goal—to bring road, gravel, and mountain biking together into one race. It's a format unlike anything else in the Midwest, challenging riders to tackle all three disciplines in a single day... for FREE.
  • Yearly Features: In its 5th year, the course covers (in order) approximately 30 miles of road, 25 miles of gravel, and 12–15 miles of singletrack (depending on course conditions).
  • New Challenges: In collaboration with the folks at Griffin Bike Park and the Vigo County Parks Department, this year's road and gravel routes have been refreshed, bringing new roads, new scenery, and a few new challenges.
  • Technical Skill: Solo racers will find the day to be a true test of endurance, versatility, and technical skill. Many riders discover that simply finishing the Triple Scoop is an accomplishment in itself.

Relay Teams

  • Team Experience: Relay teams experience the event from an entirely different perspective. Divide the disciplines among teammates, spend the day cheering each other on from the transition area, and enjoy one of the most unique team events on the cycling calendar.
  • Team Format: Whether you're racing for the podium or just sharing a memorable day on bikes, the relay format has become a favorite for good reason.
  • Team Setup: Gather a team, bring a pop-up tent, and spend the day with us. If you're looking for a late-season physical challenge, enter solo and see how you stack up.
  • Parking: Carpool if at all possible. We will be using a large portion of the parking lot as our transition/finish line village, so parking will be somewhat limited.

Routes

  • Road route: (~30 miles): TBD - updated by September 1, 2026
  • Gravel route: (~25 miles): TBD - updated by September 1, 2026
  • MTB route: 2 laps of https://www.strava.com/routes/3255178681813258410
  • Distances: Participants will tackle all three disciplines in a single day.

Transition Village

  • Community Space: The transition village is perhaps the most exciting non-racing element of the race, creating a celebratory “tunnel” of team tents.
  • Pass Through: All racers will “pass” through the transition village/finish line between each leg of the race.
  • Encouragement: Solo riders are required to check in during their race, while relay teams will perform the “baton pass" at this location.
  • Festival Atmosphere: Bring a pop up tent, umbrellas, chairs, coolers, etc. to enhance your experience.

Race Notes/Event Philosophy

  • Free Participation: The Triple Scoop will once again be a free race.
  • Support Local Organizations: Consider supporting one (or both) of the organizations that help make this event possible.
  • Camping Opportunities: Camping reservations can be made at Fowler Park, directly across the road from Griffin Bike Park.
  • Friendly Environment: Griffin Bike Park is the perfect venue for the whole family to enjoy bike-centric fun.
