About this race
Event Overview
Welcome to the 20th annual Tour de Dirt: a spectacular bike ride exploring lesser-known roads in Floyd County. More than 50% of this ride will be held on unpaved state roads. Gravel bike, Cross bike, or Mountain bike friendly!!!
New Routes
- Longer Ride: This year we have added a 100 mile ride. This route will not be as fully marked. Riders are encouraged to take the route with them on their electronic devices.
- Flexible Options: (5) other Routes to choose from this year, and we will ride a short prologue at Floyd Family Campground to get to the various courses.
- Route Updates: Routes will be different from last year and will be posted closer to the event.
- Aid Stations: There will be multiple aid stations with hydration and snacks for each route.

- Full Pull / Fiddy: 8:30 am
- Lite/Funn: 9 am / 9:15 am
- Supporting Event: This is a fully supported and signed tour: Not a Race, Ride Your Pace!
- Inclusivity: With (4) different distances to choose from, this event is inclusive of all cyclists who enjoy multi-surface bike rides.
Charity Contribution
All proceeds from the entry fee go to support Floyd's own Plenty! Farm & Fresh Food Pantry. Help more by bringing a donation of peanut butter. Yum!
Camping Information
The Event start is Floyd Family Campground (Chantilly Farm) in Floyd. It is a great place to camp for the event, and they are offering a discount to Tour De Dirt participants!

Please plan to be there between 7am - 8am depending on what route you are riding, on Saturday, October 24th to sign in and grab some coffee and snacks. Free Coffee will be provided by Red Rooster! Free sweet rolls from Grateful Bread and other great breakfast snacks.
- Registration Benefits: Your registration includes on course aid stations PLUS a meal ticket for our Power Up Plenty! Chili Feast.
- Additional Meal Tickets: Please purchase separate meal tickets for anyone in your party who is not registering for the bike tour.
- Event Sponsors: Hammer Nutrition, Outer Space and Republic of Floyd are sponsoring the event.
- Post-Ride Relaxation: Come ready to chill out after the tour, and consider camping at FFC the night before, the night of, or both!
Additional Details
Each rider will receive a handmade ceramic bowl donated by various local artists including: the Empty Bowls @ Virginia Tech and Frog Hollow Pottery. Tables will be set up outdoors on the big covered stage for riders to relax after the tour and eat your chili. Both Vegetarian and Meat Chili will be available.
Early Packet Pickup will be Friday Night from 4:30-7:30pm at the Farmers Market (come and visit the town), and Saturday morning starting at 7AM at Floyd Family Campground.
