Lake Davidson Sprint Triathlon

Event Overview

We are excited to bring you the Lake Davidson Sprint Triathlon presented by Trane Technologies! This is a USAT sanctioned event in Davidson, NC. It features a 750 meter swim, 12.7 mile bike, and a 5K run. Located on the beautiful campus of Trane Technologies, it's a great triathlon for beginners and seasoned triathletes alike.

Swim

• Distance: 750 meter swim
• Start: In-water start with historical water temperatures in the low 80’s, making wetsuits hardly ever permitted.
• Course: Rectangular course starting at the lake front of Trane Technologies Campus, finishing about 50 yards down the shore.
• Equipment: Participants are required to wear a swim cap that indicates their wave, provided at packet pick up. Swim waves and start times will be posted in the Event Details the week of the event.

Bike

• Course Length: 12.7 mile loop
• Location: Begins and ends on the Trane Technologies Campus, avoiding downtown Davidson and Davidson College areas.
• Terrain: Moderately hilly with a couple of decent-sized hills, but nothing too intimidating.
• Scenic Route: Takes participants through the rural roads of far north Mecklenburg County.

Run

• Course Type: Out and back course completely on the Trane Technologies Campus.
• Terrain: Slightly hilly with lots of turns.
• Temperature Impact: If temperatures are high, the run course can be hot, with shade at a premium.
• Distance: 5K run.
