Rocketman is North Alabama’s Premier Olympic Distance Race. Presented by Team Rocket Tri Club.

Event Details

• Date: 2026-08-30
• Location: Carrol D Hudson Recreation Area, Redstone Arsenal, Laceys Springs, AL
• Distance: 1500 meter swim (1640 yards), 40 km bike (25 miles), 10 km run (6.1 miles)

Access Registration

• Visitor Pre-Registration: Don't have a recreational pass? During the registration process, you will be guided in signup Waiver 3 to complete a Visitor Pre-Registration form for RACE DAY access only. This will apply to race participants.
• AIE System Registration: In order to participate in this event, you are required to have a valid reason/need for accessing the installation and be registered in the Automated Installation Entry (AIE) System.
• DoD Personnel: Individuals with Department of Defense (DoD) issued Identification Cards are automatically registered in the AIE system the first time the Common Access Card or ID is scanned at the installation gates.
• Non-DoD Personnel: Non-DoD personnel must register in AIE at the installation Visitor Control Center (VCC) outside Gate 9.

Recreation Badge Information

• Applying for Access: If you currently DO NOT have access to Redstone Arsenal, you may apply early (in person) for a yearly Recreation Badge prior to the race.
