Go For the Gold Rochester benefiting Brighter Tomorrows, Inc. and Cy's Place

Event Overview

This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Go for the Gold Rochester fundraiser supporting Brighter Tomorrows, Inc, a non-profit outreach to families who have been touched by childhood cancer. This year we are excited to welcome you back to Cascade Park where we will host an event that offers both in person and virtual options including a 5k and 10k run, 3k Family Walk, and also Children's Races at the Cascade Lakeside Building area on October 31st!

Impact of the Fundraiser

This annual event provides critical funding allowing us to support families who suddenly find themselves on a childhood cancer journey. The comfort Brighter Tomorrows’ families feel from the support, connection and friendship received is impactful and that support continues beyond the treatment journey well into the future.

• Support: Providing assistance to families facing childhood cancer
• Community: Heartfelt thanks to friends, families, and business colleagues
• Funding: Critical resources to help families
• Connection: Community building among those affected

Special Guest

This year we have invited a Brighter Tomorrows family from years back to join us, Randy and Ree Erickson. They formed a 501(c)(3) to provide affordable apartments and support for out of town families with immuno-compromised children receiving cancer treatment or an organ transplant at Mayo Clinic Rochester.

• Cys Place: Named after their son Silas, who battled cancer
• Mission: To provide a place of rest, comfort, and care for families
• Location: A 9 acre lot in Rochester is planned for development
• Legacy: Continuing Silas's fight through community support

How You Can Help

You can help by donating to Brighter Tomorrows, Inc. and/or Cy's Place and by sharing this page on social media with all those you care about! And of course, if you sign up to run or walk in person or virtually, all proceeds from this event go to benefit families on the childhood cancer journey served by both Brighter Tomorrows and Cy's Place!

Race Details

If completing virtually, simply complete the race or walk where and when you like and submit your time on the web link provided at registration by October 31, 2026.

• Costumes: We hope participants will come in costume for Halloween
• Registration: Available at race bag pickup on October 30th
• Shirts: Guaranteed size for sign-ups by October 1st
• Support a Family: Include the team name of supported families during registration
