About this race
Event Overview
Healthy bodies support healthy minds! Grab your running shoes, family and friends, and participate in an invigorating, safe, and family friendly run in the Latimer Lane School district. All proceeds go directly back to the school and its students and provide enhancements to the Latimer Lane Physical Education Program. Previous race proceeds have purchased a Gaga Pit, sleds, a map for the primary playground, a basketball hoop, a climbing tower, and balls for each of the classes (to name a few).
Purpose and Participation
- Promoting Healthy Habits: The race largely focuses on promoting healthy habits for kids and families.
- Awards for Youth: Younger ages who receive awards upon completion are prioritized.
- Age Categories: The Race Director chooses age categories to reflect the number of students participating.
- Community Involvement: While we encourage participation from the larger community, please keep this in mind as you register.
Date and Event Details
Mark your calendars! On October 4, 2026, the Latimer Lane School Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) will host the 13th annual Run Back to School 5K, 1 Mile, & Fun Run. The mission of this community wide event is to encourage a healthy lifestyle and provide students of all abilities with the opportunity to experience running and the benefits it can bring to their life.
Registration Information
Registration for all events start at 9:00!
Fun Run Details
- Time: 9:30am - Upper Fields. Calling all kids!!! The fun run course is back, and we've got lots planned this year.
- T-Shirt: All participants that register by 9/17/26 at 3pm will receive a t-shirt.
1 Mile Race Details
- Time: 10am - Intersection of Colonial Drive and Mountain View Drive. The 1 mile course will be clearly marked.
- Awards: Awards for elementary age group winners.
- T-Shirt: All participants that register by 9/17/2026 at 3pm will receive a t-shirt.
5K Race Details
- Time: 10:30 - Intersection of Latimer Lane Road and Valley View Road. Same course as last year which will be clearly marked.
- T-Shirt: All participants that register by 9/17/2026 at 3pm will receive a t-shirt.
