Welcome to the inaugural McAllen Triathlon Challenge, a fast, spectator-friendly sprint triathlon designed for experienced triathletes and first-time competitors alike.

Event Information

• Date: 2026-11-07
• Location: 1921 N Bicentennial Blvd, McAllen, TX
• Race URL: Endurance CUI

Race Format

• Swim: 250-meter pool swim at McAllen Municipal Pool using a time-trial start.
• Self-Seeding: Participants will self-seed by anticipated swim pace and enter the pool individually at intervals.
• Bike Course: 20-kilometer (12.4-mile) bike course heading north on Bicentennial Boulevard.
• Traffic Control: Bicentennial Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic between Pecan Boulevard (FM 495) and Nolana Avenue.

Transition and Run

• Transition Area: Located in the McAllen Municipal Pool parking lot.
• Run: 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) run on Bicentennial Boulevard between Pecan Boulevard and Nolana Avenue.
• Finish Area: Athletes will return to the transition area at McAllen Municipal Pool for the finish.
• Spectator-Friendly: The transition and finish area provide a convenient venue for family and friends.

Additional Details

• Race Distance: 250-meter Swim / 20K Bike / 5K Run
• Eligibility: This is an individual-only event. Minimum age is 18 years old on race day.
