WHPD 5k (for Special Olympics Florida)

Race Information

• Event date: March 13, 2027
• Location: 325 Ave. A NW, Winter Haven, FL

• Weather policy: This event is rain or shine. There will be no refunds issued for registered participants who do not come to the event.

Health and Safety

• COVID policy: If you are experiencing COVID symptoms, please DO NOT attend.
• Virtual option: If unable to attend, you may swap your registration to virtual to pick up your shirt and finisher medal at the police department after the event.
• Transfer policy: You can transfer your registration through active.com or by emailing [email protected].
• Entry refusal: We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone experiencing COVID symptoms or not following COVID protocols.

Event Details

• Beneficiary: All proceeds will be donated to Special Olympics Florida, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
• Course: The course is in downtown Winter Haven, beginning in the area of the library and continuing around beautiful Lake Silver.
• Entry fee includes: A Special Olympics Torch Run t-shirt (cotton or dry-fit).
• Finisher medals: All 5k participants will receive finisher medals. You can also walk the 5k!

Virtual Registration

• Unavailable on race day: There is a virtual run option. You may register for the virtual run if you cannot attend.
• Packet pick-up: You will be able to attend packet pick-up before event day or make arrangements to pick up after the event to receive your medal and shirt.
• Mail option: You can choose to have your packet mailed to you for a small charge to help offset shipping costs.
• Flexibility: VIRTUAL participants can still enjoy all the benefits of the race.

Event Schedule

• Packet pick-up: Friday, March 12, 2027, between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM at the Winter Haven Library.
• Day of packet pick-up: March 13, 2027, beginning at 6:30 AM at the library.
• Parking: Please utilize the Winter Haven Parking Garage, located on the corner of 3rd St. NW and Ave. A NW. Avoid parking around Central Park (between Ave. A NW and Central Ave.).
• Race start: The 5k starts at 8 AM.
