🎆 Percival's Island Firecracker 5 Mile Race

Celebrate Independence Day with a 5 mile race! Lynchburg is known as the "Hill City"....but this course is flat, flat, flat. The start finish is located at the Blackwater Creek Natural Area Percival's Island in downtown Lynchburg and the course follows the Blackwater Creek Bikeway...a paved rails to trails path along the James River. A bit longer than a 5k but without the effort of a 10k, 5 miles is considered by many the perfect distance. This is also the 9th race in the Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series.

📝 Registration Information

• Fees: $30 (thru - June 30, 2025), $35 (July 1st - July 4, 2025)
• Age Limit: This event is limited to those age 9 and older.
• Paper Registration: NOT available for this event.
• Refund Policy: Registration fees are non-transferable & non-refundable.

📦 Packet Pickup

• Wednesday (7/2): 12-6pm at Riverside Runners
• Thursday (7/3): 12-6pm at Riverside Runners
• Friday (7/4): Race Day 7-7:30am at Percival's Island Natural Area
• Note: There is no post-race t-shirt pickup.

🏅 Awards

Top 3 Overall M/F, Top Overall Masters M/F, Top 3 M/F in each age group. All awards will be ranked on "chip" time. This is a chip-timed event, Disposable MyLaps Race Bib Technology will be used.

• Age Groups: 12 & under, 13-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-74, 75 & Up.
• Award Pickup: Awards will be available for pickup at Riverside Runners on Saturday July 5th, 12-6pm.
• PETS: Pets and strollers are prohibited.

Start / Finish Percival’s Island Nature Trail, 1600 Concord Turnpike (Downtown Lynchburg). Flat, paved, Shaded, out & back.
