Event Overview

• Finishers Medal: ALL 5K finishers will receive a participant medal!
• Race Date: May 16, 2026 (Timing and Results by Flat-Out Events Race Management)
• Race Events:
  • 5K (competitively timed event)
  • One Mile Fun Run (not a timed event)
  • Virtual 5K (no awards)
• Event Schedule:
  • 8:00am - One Mile Fun Run
  • 8:30am - 5K
  • Virtual 5K Option - 5K
  • (Late Registration and Runner Packet Pick on Race Day from 7:00-7:45am)

Registration Details

• Online & In-Person: Registrations available online and in-person on race day.
• T-shirt Deadline: If you'd like to receive a t-shirt, you must register by end of day on 4/12/2026.
• Shirt Availability: Registrations received after 4/12/2026 are not guaranteed an event shirt or requested shirt size.
• Virtual 5K Registration: Available up to race day.

Cost Breakdown

• 5K Price: Up to 04/12/2026 - $30
• 5K Price: 04/13/2026-5/15/2026 - $35
• 5K Price: 05/16/2026 - $40
• One Mile Fun Run: $10
• Virtual 5K Fee: $35 ($27 race fee + $8 shipping fee for race swag)

Fundraising Goals

• Annual Event: This is our 7th annual "Run for Nicaragua" Race!
• Funds Raised: Since 2019, we've raised over $50,000 to build homes for families in Nicaragua.
• 2026 Goal: Our goal is to raise $20,000 to build homes in the Carlos Fonseca Barrio in Nicaragua.
• Home Cost: Each home costs $2,700.

Community Support

• Food Bank Donations: Bring non-perishable food items to support the food bank at Thrive Peninsula.
• Raffle Tickets: Tickets for a food drive prize will be given for donated food items.
• Common Needs: Common food item needs are cereal, crackers, jelly/jam, and canned veggies.

Event Experience

• Family Fun: This is a Family Fun Event with great raffle prizes, refreshments, and games for everyone.
• Medals: All participants will receive a medal upon completion of the race!
• Raffle Tickets: Raffle tickets will be sold for additional prizes.
• Weather: Rain or shine event! All participants participate at their own risk.
