🏃‍♂️ 2026 Course Maps Posted! ~ We are back to the ORIGINAL LOOP!

🌊 Wave Starts

• Start Times: The event will use "wave" starts beginning with slower teams at 7:00 a.m. and progressing to faster teams starting at 10:00 a.m.
• Finish Revenue: This allows all teams to finish in time to enjoy the band, food and fun.
• Wave 1: Starts at 0700
• Wave 2: Starts at 0830
• Wave 3: Starts at 1000

🏞️ There is nothing else like it in Tucson~a running relay on The Loop.

🔄 What's the "Loop"?

• Path Length: The Chuck Huckelberry Loop is 120+ miles of paved, shared-use paths connecting various parks.
• Event Adjustments: In 2025, due to ongoing Sunset bridge construction, the RAT will utilize the Rillito and Canyon Del Oro Washes.
• Course Use: The RunAround Tucson will use 50 miles of the Loop and its segment partners.

🏃‍♀️ How Does the Relay Work?

• Relay Structure: This is a supported relay race with Nine Exchanges (10 running legs).
• Start/Finish: The relay Starts and Finishes at Rillito Park.
• Exchange Distances: Distances between the Exchanges vary from 2.75 miles to 7 miles.
• 2026 Exchange Legs: Subject to change. Updated March 5, 2025.

• Leg 1 - Rillito Park to Curtis Park ~ 4.4 miles
• Leg 2 - Curtis Park to Camino del Cerro Park ~ 4.61 miles
• Leg 3 - Camino del Cerro Park to Juhan Park ~ 3.7 miles
• Leg 4 - Juhan Park to Paseos de la Iglecius Park and Ride Lot (Silverlake) ~ 5.04 miles

• Leg 5 - Park and Ride Lot to Augie Acuna Los Ninos Park ~ 6.86 miles
• Leg 6 - Augie Acuna to Old Vail Road Park and Ride Lot ~ 8.61 miles
  • This leg can be broken into 2 legs by exchanging at Roy Schooner Park (details to follow)
• Leg 7 - Old Vail Rd to Fantasy Island ~ 5.16 miles
• Leg 8 - Fantasy Island to Christ Community Church ~ 4.81 miles
• Leg 9 - Christ Community Church to Pantano Park and Ride Lot ~ 4.18 miles
• Leg 10 - Pantano Park and Ride to Rillito Park ~ 6.72 miles

👥 What Constitutes a "Team"?

• Team Size: The minimum number allowed on a team is two, and the maximum number is ten (or 11 if using the unofficial exchange 6A).

🆕 NEW IN 2026 ~ OFFICIAL LEG SPLITS/TIME

• Relay Process: Teammate One starts from Rillito Park, checks in at every Exchange, and hands off to Teammate Two.
• Check-in Requirement: You MUST check in at every Exchange, or your team will be considered a DNF.
• Ultra Loopy Runners: Check in only at Exchange 6 (Steam Pump Ranch).

⏰ CUTOFFS

• Overall Cutoff: All teams must be done and off the course by 6:30 p.m.
• Exchange 5: Teams must arrive no later than 1:15 p.m.
• Exchange 8: Teams must arrive no later than 4:30 p.m.

• App Availability: RaceJoy will be active! Download the app to track your runners all day.

🏁 The Finish Line

• Post-Race Celebration: Enjoy music, food, drinks, and an awards ceremony.

🏆 Awards in 2025

• First Place Teams: Awards will be given to All Male, All Female and Co-Ed Teams with 4-11 runners (Full Relay Teams).
• Half Loopy Relay: Awards for All Male, All Female and Co-Ed Teams with 2 runners.
• Ultra Runners: Awards for male and female Ultra Loopy runners.
• Special Awards: Best Dressed Team and Best Team Name (to be determined by event Sponsor).
