🌊 Wave Starts

• Start Times: Slower teams start at 7:00 a.m., faster teams at 10:00 a.m.
• Wave 1: 0700 (bibs in the 100's start in wave 1).
• Wave 2: 0830 (bibs in the 200's start in wave 2).
• Wave 3: 1000 (bibs in the 300's start in wave 3).

🏞️ What’s the "Loop"?

The Chuck Huckelberry Loop is 120+ miles of paved, shared-use paths. In 2025, the RAT will utilize the Rillito and Canyon Del Oro Washes. The RunAround Tucson will use 50 miles of the Loop and its segment partners. View the map to see the event's course.

🔄 How Does the Relay Work?

• Supported Relay: The event features nine exchanges (10 running legs if using "unofficial" exchange 6A).
• Start/Finish: The relay starts and finishes at Rillito Park.
• Distance: Distances between exchanges vary from 2.75 miles to 7 miles.
• Exchange Legs: View the individual leg distances and details below.

📏 2026 Exchange Legs (subject to change)

• Leg 1 - Rillito Park to Curtis Park ~ 4.4 miles
• Leg 2 - Curtis Park to Camino del Cerro Park ~ 4.61 miles
• Leg 3 - Camino del Cerro Park to Juhan Park ~ 3.7 miles
• Leg 4 - Juhan Park to Paseos de la Iglecius Park and Ride Lot (Silverlake) ~ 5.04 miles
• Leg 5 - Park and Ride Lot to Augie Acuna Los Ninos Park ~ 6.86 miles
• Leg 6 - Augie Acuna to Old Vail Road Park and Ride Lot ~ 8.61 miles
  • This leg can be broken into 2 legs by exchanging at Roy Schooner Park (details to follow)
• Leg 7 - Old Vail Rd to Fantasy Island ~ 5.16 miles
• Leg 8 - Fantasy Island to Christ Community Church ~ 4.81 miles
• Leg 9 - Christ Community Church to Pantano Park and Ride Lot ~ 4.18 miles
• Leg 10 - Pantano Park and Ride to Rillito Park ~ 6.72 miles

👥 What Constitutes a "Team"?

The minimum number allowed on a team is two, and the maximum number is ten (or 11 if you are using the unofficial exchange 6A).

📊 NEW IN 2026 ~ OFFICIAL LEG SPLITS/TIME

Teammate One starts from Rillito Park and runs to Exchange 1, checks in with the Event Time Keeper, and hands off to Teammate Two. Teams must check in at every Exchange, or they will be considered a DNF.

🕒 CUTOFFS

• Finish Time: All teams must be off the course by 6:30 p.m. (Slowest teams have 11.5 hours to complete the course, averaging 12:30 minutes per mile).
• Exchange 5: All teams must arrive no later than 1:15 p.m. (Augie Acuna Los Ninos Park).
• Exchange 8: All teams must arrive no later than 4:30 p.m. (Christ Community Church).
• Responsibility: Each team is responsible for getting their teammates to the Exchanges and back to the Start/Finish line to celebrate.

• First Place: Awards for All Male, All Female, and Co-Ed Teams with 4-11 runners (Full Relay Teams).
• Half Loopy Relay: Awards for All Male, All Female, and Co-Ed Teams with 2 runners.
• Ultra Runners: Awards for Male and Female (Ultra Loopy).
• Fun Awards: Best Dressed Team and Best Team Name (determined by event Sponsor).
