Event Background

• Annual Event: This year marks the 15th annual Butterfly Run.
• Purpose: The event supports Friends of Tennessee’s Babies with Special Needs.

Race Details

• Distances: 3K and 1 Mile Celebration Walk.
• Certification: 3K is USATF certified and eligible for state records.
• Packet Pickup: Springbrook Park Gym, 1561 Dalton St, Alcoa, TN.
• Pre-Race Packet Pickup: March 26th from 5-7 p.m. at Dick's Sporting Goods.

Schedule

• 3K Check-In: 7:30 am - 8:15 am.
• 3K Start: 8:30 am.
• 1 Mile Celebration Walk Check-In: 8:30 - 9:15 am.
• Walk Starts: 9:30 am.

T-Shirts

• Registration Deadline: Register by March 15, 2026, to receive a T-shirt.
• Availability: T-shirts available during early packet pickup or on race day.
• Additional Shirts: Available for purchase for participants registering by March 15, 2026.
• Packet Pickup: Unclaimed packets can be picked up at the Friends of TN's Babies office through April.

Awards and Prizes

• Ceremony Time: 3K Awards ceremony will be at approximately 9:00 a.m.
• Award Categories: Top three finishers overall, master, grandmaster, veteran, and age groups.
• Participation Medals: Given to all non-placing 3K runners and 1-mile participants.

Age Divisions

• Male/Female: Categories from 1-10 to 80+.
• Overall: Male and Female.
• Masters: Male and Female (40 and older).
• Grandmaster: Male and Female (50 and older).

General Information

• Non-competitive Participants: Asked to allow serious timed runners at the front.
• Headset Usage: Not recommended due to traffic on the race route.
• Accessibility: Wheelchairs and strollers welcome on both courses.
• Course Status: Both courses are paved and accessible.

Refreshments

• Pre/Post-race: Refreshments will be available for all registered participants.
