🏃 Tryon Half Marathon and Fall for the Foothills 5K

The Tryon Half Marathon is a one-of-a-kind course consisting of partly paved and partly gravel surfaces that meander alongside a river through beautiful horse country. The course is mainly flat with some sloping hills.

Immerse yourself in the vibrant spirit of this wonderful mountain community as you pass locals, enthusiastic volunteers, and fellow runners along your journey and bask in the warmth of knowing that you are helping to serve neighbors in need in Polk County, as the race proceeds benefit Outreach's food pantry.

After conquering the course, a delightful surprise awaits at the finish line – an indulgent breakfast spread that will be sure to satisfy your post-run cravings. Fresh coffee, juice, breakfast casseroles made by local volunteers, baskets of bagels, muffins, fruit, and other delicacies will be sure to replenish your energy and reward your accomplishments.

Race packets may be picked up Friday, November 15, from 4:00-6:00pm or on race day from 6:30am-7:30am at the cabin located in Harmon Field. Same day registration will be $90 for the half marathon and $45 for the 5K. Please note all packets must be picked up in person.

⏰ Schedule and Time Limits

Our half marathon course will be open from 8:15 am until 11:45 am. If you are running the half marathon, please be sure you can complete the race in the 3.5 hour time limit. Due to traffic constraints, we will have a sweep vehicle picking up runners as needed.

👕 Race Shirts and Finisher's Medals

Race shirts are included for all half marathon participants and are available for purchase for 5K participants this year. They will be a soft, lightweight cotton or blend, unisex sizing. If you would like to purchase a t-shirt, please be sure to register by Thursday, October 31st. If you do not want a shirt, please choose that option during registration.

Finishers of both races will receive a commemorative Finisher's Medal. The Awards Ceremony for the 5K will begin at 10:00AM and the Awards Ceremony for the half marathon will begin at 11:00AM. Both awards ceremonies will take place near the picnic shelter. Awards will go to the top three Overall Male & Female, Master's Male & Female. Age Group Awards will go to the top three places for Male & Female.
