About this race
Event Overview
Turkey Trot for the Twig returns in 2026 on the Saturday before Thanksgiving and it is still all about the Kids!! The event is to benefit children in the foster care system and the programs of The Twig Cares.
Registration Information
The Turkey Trot for the Twig has sold out for four years running so don't wait too long to register.
Race Details
- Event Type: Chip-timed 5K with awards suitable for all ages and all levels.
- Celebration: A great post-race celebration.
Race Swag
Your 5K race swag includes:
- Finisher Medal: Custom Twig Turkey Trot finisher medal for ALL 5K finishers!
- Race Bib: Custom Race Bib.
- Race Shirt: Custom Short-Sleeve Race Shirt. Or upgrade and choose a long-sleeve or ladies' tank style shirt for just $5 more. (Subject to availability, style and color may change)
Shirt deadline: October 1st. After this date, shirts or sizes are not guaranteed.
Packet Pickup
Packet Pickup will be at The Twig (826 Pinebrook Rd. Venice, FL 34285) on the Thursday before the race from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Trail Safety Guidelines
To ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment, remember the three C’s of trail use: courtesy, consideration, and control.
- Passing: Warn before passing.
- Trail Blocking: Do not block the trail all the way across.
- Trail Etiquette: Stay to the right while running on the trail to allow for oncoming trail users.
- Crosswalk Usage: Always stop and use crossing signals at road intersections.
Trail is still open to the public.
Post-Race Information
Upon completion of the run any shirts not picked up will be available to trade. No medals will be saved post race. If packets/shirts/medals are not picked up you will be forfeiting them.
