Heart of Gold 5K

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

The FLOW Heart of Gold 5k Race is a fundraiser for first responders in the town of Oakland in Bergen County, New Jersey. Hosted by local Oakland residents, we aim to support these heroes of our town by splitting all profits evenly between Oakland Fire, Police, and EMS departments. Along with these essential first responder agencies, we will also be supporting the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Shelter.

📍 Race Location

• Starting Point: The race itself would be in Oakland’s “Industrial Park” on Bauer Ave. The start of the race takes place on the 16 Van Vooren Drive property, which is an Oakland Firehouse.

🕘 Race Details

• Heat Placement: There will be one heat with runners placed at the front and walkers placed at the back. All results will be separated at the end of the race.
• Timing System: There will be a fully digital race clock, computer system, bibs, and results uploaded within RunSignup included at the Heart of Gold 5K in 2025.
• Awards: The top ten runners for each gender will receive a medal, and the first overall placer for each gender will receive a specially designed trophy.

📅 Registration Information

• Regular Registration: Regular registration runs until May 31st, and after that prices will rise to $29.99 per entrant.
• Same Day Registration: Same day registration and packet pickup will begin at 8:30am on race day morning.
• Race Start Time: The race itself will begin promptly at 9:30.
