🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

• Event: The Petit Family 5k Road Race
• Origin: Initiated in early 2008 by Robert and Gary Heslin, classmates of Dr. William A. Petit, Jr.
• History: The trio ran cross-country and track & field together at Plainville High School, class of 1974.
• Purpose: To honor the legacy of Dr. Petit's wife and daughters.

• Date: July 20, 2025
• Location: Plainville High School, Plainville, CT
• Course: A USATF-certified 5k, point-to-point course.
• Additional Event: A 1.3mi Fitness Walk is also available.

• Foundation Work: The Petit Family Foundation has awarded over $4.5 million in grants.
• Scope: Grants support programs and projects throughout Connecticut and the American Northeast.
• Nationwide Reach: Projects supported across all corners of the United States.
