🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

The Rockford Fire Department welcomes you to participate in the 21st Annual Rockford Fire Department 911 - 3K Run/Walk. Join the fun and challenge yourself, family, or friends at this incredible event.

🛑 Event Purpose

This event was formed to bring fire prevention and emergency medical education to our community. The numbers 9-1-1 are an iconic symbol of emergency services across the nation. It also holds special significance following the events of September 11, 2001. We honor the memory of that day with the race's start time 9:11 am.

📚 Education & Community Impact

• Community Outreach: The Rockford Fire Department utilizes many training aids to provide fire and medical education to our community.
• Impact: Each year, we have direct contact with over 60,000 people, and many more through social media and public service announcements.
• Funding: Proceeds are used to educate our community in fire prevention, safety, and community risk reduction.
• Training Aids: Funds will assist in purchasing training aids and educational handouts.

🌲 Support for Burn Survivors

In addition to fire safety education, the proceeds of this event will also be used to sponsor a camper to attend "Camp I Am Me", a burn survivor camp put on by the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance. The IFSA hosts this special and unforgettable camping experience every summer for young children who have sustained burns, providing them with a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere to help build their self-confidence and self-esteem.

💰 Registration Details

• Early Bird Pricing: Save $10 off of the normal ticket price if you register before 4/15.
• Kids Pricing: Kids 12 and under are only $15!
• T-shirt Sizes: Adult sizes S-3XL: Youth sizes M-XL. Additional shirts can be purchased in the STORE on the race website. Orders for additional shirts will not be accepted after May 18th.
• Finisher Rewards: Runners will receive a finisher medal, a race bib, and a T-shirt (shirts are only guaranteed to those who register prior to May 19th).

• Age Group: Challenge coins for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place.
• Overall: Prizes for overall male and female runners.
• Kids Fun Run: Medals for the kids fun run.

🍕 Post-Race Experience

We are very excited to have our post-race food provided by Mission BBQ again this year!

🔗 Course Details

USATF certified course and chip timing provided by Racing Expectations.

👶 Kids Fun Run

Following the race there will be a free Kids Fun Run for children ages 8 and under (details on the event page).

📅 Packet Pick-Up Information

Packet pick-up and late registration will be held at Fleet Feet Sports Rockford (1653 N. Alpine Rd., Rockford, IL) on Friday, June 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

🚫 Important Registration Notes

There will be no same day registration this year. Registration closes on June 6 at 6 p.m.
