What is a Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk?

• Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001.
• Honoring Heroes: Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

How far is a Tunnel to Towers 5K Run, Walk, & Climb – Bridgeport?

• Distance: This is a 5K (3.1 miles).
• Participation: You are welcome to walk or run this event.

What is the best time to register?

• Recommendation: The best time to register is always RIGHT NOW.
• Pricing: Registration is tied to a price tiering system where price increases occur one week after the opening of registration, one month before the event, and on race day.

What is the age limit?

• Age Policy: There is no age limit.
• Inclusivity: All are welcome!

Is there parking available?

• Carpool: Please carpool if you can.
• Parking Areas: Park in the residential areas surrounding Ellsworth Park where public parking is permitted.
• Port 5 Club: Parking will not be available at the Port 5 Club.

Where can I pick up my packet?

• Early Pick-up: We will have early packet pick-up at the Port 5 Club on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16 from 11:00 am - 8:00 pm.
• Event Day: On Saturday 17th from 6:45 am - 8:15 am on the day of the event.

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?

• Authorization: Yes, they can.
• Receipt Requirement: They must present a copy of your registration receipt.

Do I have to wear my bib number?

• Display Requirement: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
• Consequence of Not Wearing: Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish.

I am a fast runner. Can I get a front line position?

• Positioning: Runners predicting a faster pace may make their way to the front of the line.
• Tip: Space availability allows for this (hint: arrive early!).

Will the event be timed?

• Timing: Yes, the event will be timed.
• Personal Tracking: You are also more than welcome to use a smartphone or watch to keep up with your own time.

Will water be available?

• Water Stations: Yes, a water station will be available along the route.
• Availability: Water will also be available at the start/finish.
• Hydration: Please hydrate before the event starts or bring water with you if necessary.

Will there be food at the event?

• Vendor Collaboration: We are working with local vendors to bring food on-site at the event.

What can you bring to the event?

• Personal Belongings: You will be responsible for all of your personal belongings you bring to the event.
• Secure Storage: Please leave anything that you do not want to run/walk with locked securely in your vehicle.

Can I run with a stroller, backpack, wheelchair, roller blades, bicycle, etc?

• Permitted Items: You can participate with a stroller, wheelchair, and/or backpack.
• Prohibited Items: No roller blades, bicycles, or pets.
• Personal Items: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle.
• Responsibility: T2T will not be responsible for the loss of any items.

What should I wear if I am participating?

• Attire: General public should wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
• Patriotic Colors: We encourage everyone to wear patriotic colors and carry flags if you would like.
• Military and First Responders: We encourage you to wear your gear/uniform, or anything that signifies what department or branch you serve.
