Run For The Rock

Event Overview

• Date: June 14, 2026
• Location: 4 Seabright Ave, Bridgeport, CT
• History: Join the Black Rock neighborhood residents as we celebrate 382 years at our annual Run for the Rock 5k!
• Tradition: We love our traditional Black Rock Day weekend and are happy to be able to host it again.

Registration Information

• Registration Limit: Our registration limit for this event - 450 participants
• Sell Out: We sold out the last two years and could not allow any race weekend registrations.
• Deadline: DON’T DELAY - REGISTER NOW! NO KIDDING.
• Race Day Registration: Absolutely no race day registration if sold out.

Fees and Entertainment

• Entry Fee: Your entry fee includes our coveted BLACK ROCK Shirt (pickup available the two days before the race and event morning).
• Fee Structure: Early bird event fees till 3/31: $35 for 19 yrs old & over, $25 for 18 yrs old & under.
• Price Increases: Fees increase on 4/1 to $38/$28, and 6/8 to $40/$30.
• Kids Fun Run: Free kids fun run - 1/10 mile from the 3-mile point to the finish. 8 yrs & under only please.

Schedule of Events

• Feb 6: Registration opens
• April 1: Fee increase (no April foolin')
• June 8: Fee increase
• Registration Pickup: Early T-shirt/bib pickup on June 12 and June 13.

Race Day Details

• Pickup Time: Sunday, June 8 at the Norden Club from 7:30am-8:55am
• Start Time: 9:00am for the 5K Race/walk computer chip timed
• Kids Run: 8:45am Free kids run, last 1/10 mile of the course to the finish line.
• Awards Ceremony: 9:15am snacks, fluids, followed by awards when results are posted.

Awards and Commemorations

• Overall Awards: Gift cards to 5k: 1st ($100), 2nd ($75), 3rd ($50) overall m&f
• Age Group Awards: Presented in total 'all at once' for each age group.
• Special Medals: To 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in each division 9 & under, 10-13, 14-18, and others.
• Eligibility: Must be present for your award or have someone take it for you.

Course Details

• Map: COURSE MAP
• Course Description: Great water views, 90% flat (OK, there is one hill at 2.2mi), quiet roads.
• Hydration: At least one water table on course but be prepared - hydrate before & carry your own fluids if needed.
• Safety: Please be aware of each other's personal space- stay safe and healthy.

Important Notes

• Non-Refundable: We cannot refund any registration fees due to fixed costs and pre-payment.
• Charity Commitment: Whether we are live or need to go virtual our charity commitment will be maintained.
• BIB System: We use a BIB chip-timed system with Last Mile Racing.

Final Reminders

• Don’t Exchange Bibs: Please do not give, take nor exchange a bib with anyone.
• Emergency Services: It will affect all results and delay emergency services if required.
• Be Prepared: Arrive at the start on time and be ready to go to avoid crowding on the course.
• Review Code of Conduct: Safety is key, listen for instructions, and hydrate appropriately.
