Event Overview

The Word "Sangamam" ("சங்கமம்") in the Tamil Language means, Confluence or assembly or junction or in simple terms, Join together in one place. Tamil is one of the oldest and most classical languages in the world.

Purpose

• Community Focus: The primary purpose of this event is to bring the entire community together.
• Indian Community Presence: Show our Indian community presence and our support.
• Giving Back: Proceeds from registration will be donated to local non-profits.
• Support for Needy: Helping programs to overcome poverty and provide food supplies.

Race Details

• Location: The timed 5K Run starts and finishes at the Tipton Trail South Shelter located at 2401 General Electric Road, Bloomington, IL 61704.
• Course: The 5K Run will be on the nicely paved Tipton Trail and/or Constitution Trail.
• Water Stations: Available on the course.
• Participants: Strollers and walkers are welcome, but please no headphones.

Family Fun Event

The 2K Family Fun Water Gun Run or Walk will also be on the Tipton Trail South Shelter. Toy Water Guns will be provided to the registered Kids below 15 years.

Support and Safety

• Volunteers: There will be volunteers at each mile marker and intersection for traffic control.
• Course Access: The course will be open to traffic for the public.
• Post-Race Activities: Kids' fun games are also planned.
• Packet Pickup: Race day registration starts at 6:30am in the Tipton Trail (South Shelter).

Awards

• 5K Awards: Top overall male and female. Age bracket awards: 15 & Under, 16-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 60 & Up.
• 2K Family Fun Run/Walk Awards: Individual category 3 & Under, 4-6, 7-9, 10-15.
