Houston Heights Fun Run: 5K, 10K and Kids 1K

This year marks the 40th annual Heights Fun Run hosted by the Houston Heights Association. The Houston Heights Fun Run will be held on Saturday October 11th, 2025! The event started in 1985 and despite everything, has not missed a year!

🌟 Event Overview

• Event Date: Saturday, October 11th, 2025
• Event Location: Marmion Park, 1800 Heights Boulevard, Houston TX 77008
• Event Type: Hybrid In-Person & Virtual 5K, 10K, and Kids 1K Race
• Purpose: Support the Houston Heights Association's favorite hybrid event!

🗓️ Event Information

Get out to enjoy the summer weather in our wonderful neighborhood and support the Houston Heights Association favorite hybrid event! Since we all need to remain mindful of social distancing and keeping our community safe, the annual Fun Run will be hybrid with an In-Person AND Virtual option!

• In-Person: Options include a 10K run, 5K walk or run, or a Kids 1K on race day.
• Virtual: Can be done from the time of registration up until race day on any trail of your choice.
• Submission: Virtual participants can submit their race any time until race day and can do so in portions.

🏁 Race Day Schedule

Saturday, October 11th, 2025

• 5:30AM: Last minute packet pick up @ Marmion
• 6:45AM: Pre-Race Stretching begins @ Starting Line hosted by a Special Guest!
• 7:00AM: Competitive Events- 10K/5K Run begins @ Starting Line
• 8:00AM: Kids 1K begins @ Starting Line: After Party Starts @ Marmion with LIVE music!

📊 Race Day Groups

5K/10K Competitive runs will start at the same time.

• Group 1: Sub 7:00 min/mile
• Group 2: 7:00-8:30 min/mile
• Signage: Look for signs at the START for Groups based on estimated Mile Pace.

🏞️ Course Information

For the In-Person Option, the Boulevard will be closed to passing traffic with patrolling constables.

• 1K Route: Starts at Marmion Park (18th Street), turns around at 15th Street, and stops at Marmion.
• 5K Route: Starts at Marmion Park (18th Street), turns around at 5th Street, and stops at Marmion.
• 10K Route: Is the 5K Route TWICE.

🏆 Awards

Awards will be handed out at the After-Party at Marmion Park starting at 8:30AM. Awards will be given to Top 3 Male & Top 3 Female Finishers of each age group in the 5K Run and in the 10K Run. Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female Kids 1K finishers will also receive an award (no age groups for Kids 1K).

• Age Groups: Under 20, 20 - 29, 30 - 39, 40 - 49, 50 - 59, 60 - 69, 70 - 79, 80+

🎉 After Party Information

Post-Race, we will have a mindfully spaced After-Party at Marmion Park with local community vendors/sponsors- more details to come!

🚨 DISCLAIMER

The HHA is working incredibly hard and diligently on ensuring this race will happen at the advertised location. However, due to the current status of Special Permits for the City of Houston who are not allowing ANYONE to currently have a permit - location MAY be moved. Rest assured the Fun Run WILL happen but we are modifying and updating constantly.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience with us during this challenging and unknown time. Registrations after Sept 22nd will receive shirts subject to availability. We must provide the printer 2 weeks for printing.
