Tom Bass Park I, Houston TX
Sunday, June 22nd, 2025
Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 22, 2025, as we lace up for the BoomX Generational Health’s Juneteenth 5K Run/Walk in Houston! This event is more than a race—it’s a celebration of freedom, resilience, and health within the African-American community.
Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, first celebrated in Texas when news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached Galveston on June 19, 1865. As we honor this historic milestone, we also recognize the need to foster health and wellness in our communities today.
Our Juneteenth 5K aims to promote movement, awareness, and empowerment, providing a fun and accessible way to encourage healthy lifestyles. This event will inspire participants to take charge of their well-being while uniting generations.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the 501(c)3 organization, The African American Health Coalition of the Metropolitan Houston. Learn more about them and their programs at www.afahchouston.org!
