Every year Amberly hosts a race through our beautiful neighborhood to raise money to support a local nonprofit organization that serves our community selected by the Amberly Community Service Club. This year they chose Special Olympics North Carolina! PLUS because we're racing on Halloween we're giving away some great prizes for Best Costume and Best Family Costume!

🎉 Support Special Olympics North Carolina

Eunice Kennedy Shriver founded Special Olympics with a vision that individuals with intellectual disabilities were far more capable in sports and physical activity than many experts believed possible. Athletes in North Carolina are never charged to participate due to the generous support from individuals, businesses, foundations, and civic groups helps fund the training facilities, equipment, transportation, and coaches key to every athlete’s experiences.

Their Mission: To provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

🕘 Race Day Schedule

All races will have a mass start at 9:00 AM for the Fun Mile and 9:15 for the 3 Mile / 5 Mile and the course closes for all races at 10:45 AM (In-person Race Day Schedule). Please consider your race pace when deciding which event to run. * For any participants who feel they may need some extra time, please contact us at info@:fitandable.net.
