Race Overview

• Community Participation: Join the Oviedo Run Club and our community in continuing the Rising tradition.
• Course Details: The course begins in front of the Historic Sanctuary at First United Methodist Church and follows the Cross Seminole Trail for an out and back distance of either a 5k or 10k.
• Kids' Fun Run: The Kids' Fun Run is under a mile, along the beautiful canopied road.
• Charity Focus: Each year, The Rising has raised thousands of dollars for local charities, like HopeHelps, Inc. and The Oviedo Preservation Project.

Awards and Recognition

• Finishers Awards: Cash awards are given to the top 3 male and female finishers for the 5k and 10k distances.
• Age Group Winners: Finishers awards and age group winners (5 year increments) are also given.
• Team Participation: Area schools are encouraged to sign up as teams to win grants for the largest schools in attendance.
• Fundraising Mission: Your registration helps fund our mission of giving.

Environmental Commitment

• Green Event: The Oviedo Run Club is committed to putting on a green event.
• Compostable Cups: Use of compostable water cups.
• On-Site Recycling: On-site recycling will be available.
• Waste Reduction: Race packets will be full of usable items, not to be wasted.
