🌳 Race Overview
Looking for a race that’s close to home but feels like a getaway? The charming town of Howey-in-the-Hills is only about 35 minutes from Orlando and just 20 minutes from Winter Garden, making it an easy drive for runners across Central Florida. With its scenic lake views, historic landmarks, and welcoming small-town feel, this race is the perfect blend of convenience and beauty.
Join us for a memorable race day with courses along Little Lake Harris, unique swag, and a lakeside finish line celebration at the iconic JB Boondocks.
⏰ Race Essentials
Start Times
- Half Marathon: 7:00 AM
- 10K: 7:05 AM
- 5K: 7:45 AM
Packet Pickup
- Friday, Feb 20th: 1:00 – 6:00 PM at Dash Sports (741 W Montrose St, Clermont). 🎁 Everyone who picks up Friday is entered into a special prize drawing!
- Race Morning: 5:45 – 7:30 AM at the race venue (Half Marathon pickup closes at 6:45 AM).
- Important: No on-site paper registration. Online registration closes at 6:30 AM for the Half, 6:45 AM for the 5K & 10K.
Parking
- Lake County Resource Center (510 S Palm Avenue, Howey-in-the-Hills).
- Best route: from State Road 19 → right on Lakeview. Other nearby roads will be barricaded.
- Please arrive by 6:15 AM. Resort guests may take a free shuttle.

🌅 The Course Experience
Your race begins along the shoreline of Little Lake Harris as the sun rises. You’ll pass by the historic Howey Mansion, through the quaint countryside, and (for half marathoners) wind through Mission Resort & Club and the residential streets of Las Colinas.
The finish line is at JB Boondocks, a beloved lakeside restaurant and our beverage sponsor. Redeem your bib ticket for a complimentary drink and enjoy the lakeside views. Snacks will also be available for all participants as part of your race entry.
🏅 Awards & Recognition
- Awards Ceremony starts at 8:45 AM: 5K first, followed by 10K, then Half.
- Age Groups: 5K & 10K: every 10 years (9 & under → 70+)
Half Marathon: every 5 years (19 & under → 75+) - Prizes: Top 3 Male & Female Overall

⚠️ Rules & Course Notes
- Road course, minimum 18 min/mile pace required (roads reopen accordingly).
- All participants must be registered. Bandits or pacing without a bib is prohibited.
- Strollers allowed (please line up at the back).
- No dogs permitted on course or near start/finish (service animals allowed with prior approval).
