5K Run / Walk for Clean Water

💧 Why Water?

• Global Crisis: The global water crisis doesn’t always make headlines. But the truth is that it claims more lives each year than war.
• Contamination: Globally, 1.8 billion people – that’s about one out of every four people – drink from contaminated water sources.
• Illnesses: Unsafe water leads to illnesses that claim the lives of 840,000 people each year, almost half of whom are children under the age of five.
• Impact on Families: Women and children spend hours each day collecting water, keeping them from school, work, and time with family.

🏃‍♀️ Race Details

• Date & Location: The race will take place on November 8, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church, Salisbury, NC.
• Proceeds: All proceeds from the race will benefit the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) Global Water Ministry.
• Course: Runners and walkers will enjoy a 3.1 mile road course starting from Grace Lutheran Church parking lot and looping through Grace Ridge.
• Fun Run: The fun run course will be held on Grace Lutheran property.

⏰ Race Day Check-In

• Time: 7:00 a.m. - 8:20 a.m. on site.
• Registration Cost: Race day registration will be 5k: $30, Fun Run: $5.
• Course Records: Male: 18:49 (2021), Female: 20:38 (2022).

🏆 Awards - 5K

• Overall Awards: Top 3 Male & Female and Overall Masters Male & Female awards will be given.
• Cash Prizes: $100 cash prize for first overall male/female, $50 cash prize for second/third overall male/female.
• Age Group Awards: The top 3 runners in various age groups will receive awards.
• New Prizes: Sports beanie with logo for the age group awards.

🥇 Awards - Fun Run (8 & under)

• Top Finishers: Overall top 3 Male & Female finishers will be awarded.
• Cash Prize: $25 cash prize for first overall male/female (ages 8 & under).
• All Participants: All fun run participants will receive a finisher's medal.

👕 Participant T-Shirts

• T-Shirts: Long Sleeved T-shirts for participants will be guaranteed if registered by October 31.

🍽️ Special Treat

• Hushpuppies: Fresh, hot hushpuppies will be available for all participants at the end of the race.
