🏃‍♂️ Program Overview

• Purpose: The GRC Summer Running Program is designed to keep children active during the summer months.
• Eligibility: This program is offered for all children ages 14 and under.
• Cost: There is no fee to participate.
• Duration: The program starts Tuesday, June 3, 2025, and will last seven weeks.

🏅 Mileage Goals

• Mileage Log: Children will keep a log of how many miles they run during the seven weeks.
• Goals: They will need to set a goal of 13 miles (half marathon) or 26 miles (full marathon).
• Group Runs: Each week we will offer a group run to give the kids a chance to run and play together.
• Tracking: They can count the miles they run with the group and miles they run at home as part of the program.

🚦 Safety Measures

• Group Leader Rules: During group runs, children will be required to follow the group leader’s rules.
• Safety Discussion: Please discuss safety with them prior to the runs.
• Compliance: They must follow the rules for their safety and the safety of the group.
• Awards Celebration: We will offer an end of the summer awards celebration to honor the kids for all their hard work.

📅 Schedule

• Start Date: Group Runs begin Tuesday June 3, 2025.
• Weekly Runs: All runs will be on Tuesdays and begin at 6pm at various locations.
• Location Updates: There is a chance the location of the run could change.
• Information Source: We will update the GRC Youth Running Group page if there are changes to the group run schedule.
