👶 About the Children's Recovery Center
The Children's Recovery Center is a non-profit Child Advocacy center serving the children of Horry and Georgetown Counties. It is our mission to provide treatment and effective advocacy for children suspected of having suffered sexual abuse and physical abuse. We do this as a team with our community partners, to find the best outcome for each child. Efforts in prevention and education in the community are vital parts of the Children's Recovery Center's mission. We are a 501c3 organization.
💰 Fundraising Purpose
The Children's Recovery Center 5K Run/Walk is a fundraiser for the Children's Recovery Center. All proceeds will benefit the children of Horry and Georgetown Counties who come to the Children's Recovery Center. This event is designed to be a "family friendly" event in which young or old are welcomed to participate.

Friday, August 22:
- Location: On The 1/2 Shell - 4500 Highway 17, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576
- Time: From 5-8 pm.
- Activities: Pick up your race packets or register for the race, have a delicious dinner and win raffle prizes!!
Saturday, August 23, 2025 Race Registration:
- Packet pick up: Starts at 7:00 am
- 1 Mile Run/Walk: 7:30 am (FREE for kids 7 and under)
- 5K Shotgun Start: 8 am
- Free Breakfast for Runners: 9 am
💵 Registration Fees
- 5K Run/Walk (Adults): $40 if registered by August 17, 2025 ($45 after August 16)
- 5K Run/Walk (Children 14 and under): $30 if registered by August 17, 2025 ($35 after August 17)
- 1 Mile Run/Walk (Adults): $25 ($30 after August 17)
- 1 Mile Run/Walk (Children): $15 ($20 after August 17)
- 1 Mile Run/Walk: FREE for kids ages 7 and under
