Run for the Word 5K

COURSE

• Start Location: The Run for the Word 5K course will start on Zion Street, across Highway 153 from Trinity Lutheran Church (108 W. Rice Street, Landis NC 28088).
• Route: Turn right on Hoke Street, right again on Kimmons Street, and another right on Rice Street.
• Turnaround: Follow to Highway 29 Business, turn left, and continue for 1.1 miles to the turnaround in the parking lot at Hogan's Cabinetry.
• Finish: Retrace the route back to Landis, turn right on Ridge Avenue, and then left on Zion Street to finish beside Trinity Lutheran, the host facility.

This is a fast and flat course!!

PROCEEDS

• Beneficiary: All proceeds go to the South Rowan Public Schools Bible Teaching Association.

ICE CREAM

• Reward: Each 5k and fun run participant will be rewarded with free ICE CREAM at the finish line!!

PRICE

• Online Registration: 5k price through September 11 - $30, Ages 18 & Under - $20.
• Race Day Price: $35 for 5K.
• Fun Run Price: 1/2 Mile Fun Run - $15 (12 & under), $25 (13 & up).

RACE DAY REGISTRATION & CHECK-IN

• Check-In Starts: 7:30 a.m.
• 5K Start Time: 9:00 a.m.
• Fun Run Start Time: 10:00 a.m.
• Location: Registration & Check-In will be at the Trinity Lutheran Church - 108 W. Rice Street, Landis, NC 28088.

VIRTUAL OPTION

• Cost: $30 - all ages.
• Flexibility: Want to support the race but would rather run or walk at a time of your own choosing?!
• Shirt Pickup: Shirts may be picked up in person the day of the race from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
• Awards: Virtual participants not eligible for awards.

AWARDS

• Overall Awards: Top 3 Overall Male and Female, Overall Masters Male and Female.
• Age Division Awards: 5K Top 3 Male and Female participants in each age division.
• Fun Run Awards: 1/2 Mile Fun-Run - ages 12 and under eligible for awards - top 3 male and female in each age group: 8 & under and 9-12.

AGE GROUPS

• 5K Groups: 11 & under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over.
• Fun Run Groups: 8 & under, 9-12.

SHIRTS

• Technical T-Shirt: 5K and Fun Run participants (in person and virtual) will receive a technical t-shirt.
