Superheroes for Autism

Race Overview

• Chip Timed: This is a chip timed race for both start and finish. (yep! we will be having chipped start and end this year, where your official time will be between when you cross the starting line and when you cross the finish line!).
• Finisher Medals: All 5K and 10K finishers will receive a medal when they cross the finish line.
• Awards: There will be awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd overall Male and Female and age based awards for Male and Female.
• Date: Saturday April 11, 2026

Race Start Times

• 10K: Starts at 8:30 AM
• 5K: Starts at 8:45 AM
• Walk / Fun run: Starts at 8:50 AM

Packet Pickup and Locations

• Pickup Options: You have 2 options for pickup:
• Option 1: Friday April 11, TBD
• Option 2: Race day 8:00 AM to event start at McAlpine Creek Park

Parking

• Accessibility: There's a big sign off of Monroe Rd for McAlpine Creek Park. Once you turn in, parking is on your right.

5K Course Map

• Available Maps: 5K route (mapmyrun.com), 5K route (plotaroute.com)
• 10K Route: 10K route will be 5K + Greenway - more to come on the specific route.
• Stroller Friendly: We’ve designed a stroller friendly tiny alteration in the course. We’ll have people on the course to make that clear.

Awards 5K and 10K

• Overall Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place overall for Female (these are really cool awards!) and Male.
• Age-Based Awards: Age based 1st place winners award certificates for Male and Female.
• Finisher Medals: Finisher Medals for all those who registered for the 5K and 10K only races and cross the finish line.

About the Race and ASMC

• Organization: Autism Services of Mecklenburg County (ASMC) has been providing housing and services for adults with autism in Charlotte since 1979.
• Charity Impact: All entry fee profits go directly to ASMC to keep them running great.

• Personal Connection: Tony Scotto di Carlo, a board member of ASMC for 16 years, has a brother who is a resident at ASMC.
