Towpath Run 6K

Event Overview

• Organizer: The Little Ones Learning Center, a FREE non-profit early literacy center for children 0-6.
• Event: 2026 Towpath Run, a 6K (3.7 mile) Race/Walk for Literacy.
• Date: Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026.
• Location: Harold Lipton Community Center, Accord, NY.

Race Details

• Route: The race will be run point to point from Alligerville to Accord.
• Registration: Participants will meet at the Accord Community Center from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
• Transport: Runners and walkers will be bussed to Alligerville for the run back to Accord.
• Start Times: Walkers start at 9 a.m., runners start at 9:15 a.m.

Course Information

• Scenic Route: The race will be run along Towpath Road, a scenic, wooded lane with views of the Catskills.
• Historical Significance: The route is near the towpath used for ferrying boats along the former D&H Canal.
• Location History: Accord and Alligerville were stops on the canal.
• Parking: There will be no parking in Alligerville: all participants must be bussed from Accord.

Registration Fees

• Pre-Registration: $20 by Sept. 23.
• On-Site Registration: $25 from Sept. 24 to Day of Race.

Awards and Prizes

• Categories: Prizes awarded to top finishers in 14 & under, 15-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.
• Additional Awards: Top finishers among Town of Rochester residents and walkers.

Location Information

• Access: The community center is located a few blocks off Route 209 on County Route 27.
• Distance: Approximately six miles south of the intersection of Routes 209 and 213 in Stone Ridge.
• Nearby: About four miles north of the intersection of Routes 44/55 and 209 in Kerhonkson.
