Event Overview

Celebrated as one of the 20 Best Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trots in America, the CPI Security Charlotte Turkey Trot is a Charlotte Thanksgiving tradition for the past 36 years!

Race Details

Join us on Thanksgiving Day morning and choose from several fun options to participate including an 8K Run, a 5K Run/Walk, a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk, and a Tot Trot. Starting and finishing at the SouthPark Mall, the largest road race (11,000+) in North Carolina is a homecoming destination for extended families, and old classmates, and a place to meet and celebrate with neighbors. The community comes together for the official Charlotte kick-off to the holiday season!

• Safety Upgrades: Start line upgrades focusing on fun, efficiency and safety, including enhanced walker, baby jogger and runner corrals
• Pre-Race Experience: A deejayed pre-race experience, fire trucks and live national anthem
• Post-Race Refreshments: Harris Teeter post-race refreshments including water, granola bar and bananas
• Finish Festival: Finish Festival featuring music, awards, event partner giveaways, costume contests and so much more

• Tot Trot: Harris Teeter Tot Trot is FREE and convenient, running continuous heats from 8:30-9:30AM in the Dick's parking lot
• Toy Drive: CMPD Explorers HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE: Please bring a toy to any packet pick-up or on race morning – our goal is to collect 1,000's of toys for local kids in need
