🦃 Race Overview

Celebrated as one of the 20 Best Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trots in America, the CPI Security Charlotte Turkey Trot is a Charlotte Thanksgiving tradition for the past 35 years!

Join us on Thanksgiving Day morning and choose from several fun options to participate including an 8K Run, a 5K Run/Walk, a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk, and a Tot Trot. Starting and finishing at the SouthPark Mall, the largest road race (10,000+) in North Carolina is a homecoming destination for extended families and old classmates, and a place to meet and celebrate with neighbors. The community comes together for the official Charlotte kick-off to the holiday season!

• Race Morning: Suffolk Punch Brewery open race morning 7 am - 11 am with a special menu and full bar

• Awards Stage: Novant Health Awards Stage
• Trophies: Our iconic Turkey trophies for overall winners and Richardson brand trucker hats for age group awards
• Beer: GREAT BEER: Suffolk Punch Brewery AND Legion Brewery complimentary beer with registration for runners over 21 (please bring an ID)
• Costume Contest: Pridemore Compass COSTUME CONTEST with individual and group prizes

• Tot Trot: Harris Teeter Tot Trot is FREE and convenient, running continuous heats from 8:30-9:30 AM. Register your kids online to guarantee a race bib and medal!
• Runner’s Refreshments: Harris Teeter post-race RUNNER’S REFRESHMENTS including water, granola bar, and banana
• Toy Drive: CMPD Explorers HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE – Please bring a toy on Thanksgiving morning – our goal is to collect thousands of toys for local kids in need.
