About this race
Race Overview
The weather was perfect for the 2026 HC5K! Clear, crisp with little to no wind. The 2027 5K will be run on Sunday, March 7th, with the hopes the weather will be chilly and clear. The rain/snow date is Sunday, March 14th just in case Mother Nature does not cooperate this year.
Event Details
- Family-Friendly: Our event is a family-friendly/dog-friendly race run during the doldrums of winter.
- Location: Start and finish at the Kent Island Elementary School.
- Course: The course takes you along the scenic Cross Island Trail.
- Finish Line Treat: Remember, there is Hot Chocolate at the finish of the run!
Packet Pickup & Registration
- Packet Pickup: Will be Sunday morning, race day, opening at 7:30, in the cafeteria of the school.
- Race Day Registration: Available but with no guarantee of receiving a premium.
- Awards Ceremony: Will begin at 10:00 after the run.
- Dog Treats: Dog treats for all dogs at the end: age group winners must be present to receive their award.
New Division
- Walking Division: We have added a 5K walking only division this year.
- Awards: Top 3 male and female win awards in the walking division.
