San Felipe Shootout

Description

The San Felipe Shootout is an exciting race format with a very unique twist on racing. The event will consist of three separate races: the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon. The SHOOTOUT (triple) combines all races back-to-back-to-back with the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon for a cumulative time. The faster you run, the more break you have between events. Shootout runners must start each race at the gun.

Event Location

• Park Location: SFA State Park is just a short drive from Houston.
• Nature Experience: Experience the Nature of Texas’ first colony, nestled on the banks of the Brazos River.
• Outdoor Activities: Enjoy 6 miles of hiking and biking trails, a picnic area, and geocaching.
• Camping Options: A variety of campsites are available, including pull-through 30 amp full hook-up RV sites.

2026 Schedule

FRIDAY, MARCH 20TH

• 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Packet Pickup at the SFASP Dining Hall Start/Finish Line - you may have others pick up your packet.
• Personal Gear: Drop your personal support area gear during this time and leave overnight. Ensure items are secure due to the trash pandas.
• 5:00 PM: Trail Briefing and Q&:A with Race Director Cal Neff at Start Line (optional).

SATURDAY, MARCH 21ST​

• 6 AM - Noon: Race Day Packet Pickup and Merch at the SFASP Dining Hall Start/Finish Line.
• 7:30 AM: START OF THE 5K.
• 8:30 AM: START OF THE 10K.
• 10:30 AM: START OF THE HALF.

The Shootout runners MUST start each race at the time stated above.

BBQ FOOD TRUCK:: WATSON'S FAMOUS BBQ :: 8 AM TO 4 PM

3:00 PM: FINISH LINE CLOSES - END OF EVENT.

Awards/Medals

Finishers' Medals for each of the 5k, 10k, and Half (unique for each distance). The Triple participants will collect all three plus a bonus medal! Shotgun shells for first overall male/female, and masters male/female.
