🏙️ What is a Tunnel To Towers Climb?

The Tunnel to Towers Climb Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. We honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! 🚒 Event Details

• Location: 150 Fayetteville Street, Raleigh, NC
• Date: 2025-09-13
• Climbing Requirement: We have designed this event to climb 110 flights of stairs in the old Wells Fargo Tower Bldg. Your participation is extremely impressive whether you do 1 flight or 100.
• Bail Out Area: There will be a bail out area on floor #10 with access to an elevator.

🕘 Event Timing

• Registration/check in: 8-8:30 AM
• Announcements/Event details: 8:30-8:45 AM
• National Anthem: 8:45 AM
• Event starts: 9:00 AM (2-hour time cap)

📦 Registration Information

• Participants Limit: We are limiting the event to the first 200, so register early!
• Registration Packet: Early registration event in August.
• Event T-shirt: All participants who register in advance will receive an event T-shirt and a finisher's medal. We do not guarantee T-shirts for late registrations.
• Entry Fee: No, the entry fee helps cover the cost of producing the T2T Tower Climb.

🔍 Climb Specifications

• Time Requirement: Elite Climbers may finish in less than 30 minutes, while average participants should take about 60-120 minutes to finish.
• Breath Catching: Climbers can stop on a landing to catch their breath, but should be mindful of those behind them.
• Gear Policy: First responders are encouraged to wear turnout gear but should not bring scott packs.
• Cell Phones: Yes, only registered climbers may enter the stairs with cell phones.

💰 Fundraising and Donations

• Fundraising Minimum: No, but fundraising helps offset costs and benefits the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
• Funds Distribution: Proceeds will benefit the Foundation’s various programs including our Smart Home, Fallen First Responder Home & Gold Star Family Home programs.
• Tax Deductibility: No, the entry fee is not tax-deductible, but donations above this amount are.
• Extended Fundraising: YES! Additional funds can still be raised through December.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Team Participation

• Forming a Team: You can form a team while registering online by selecting the option to "Create a Team".
• Joining a Team: Select the "Join a Team" option and choose from the drop-down menu.
• Team Registration: Unfortunately, group registration is not an option at this time.
• Payment by Check: Yes, a team can submit one check for every member's registration fee.

🚗 Parking and Logistics

• Parking Availability: Street parking will be available and free on a first-come, first-serve basis, and at Alexander Square Parking Deck across the street.
• Bag Check: No bag check will be provided, and we ask that you do not bring bags, backpacks, purses, or valuables.
• Registration Changes: Participation is non-transferrable and registration fees are non-refundable.
• Registration Deadline: All details regarding registration changes can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
