Volusia County Schools Trails to Success 5k

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

The Volusia County Schools' VCS Trails to Success 5K will be an out and back course on the paved Spring-to-Spring trail of Gemini Springs Park. You will enjoy shade from moss-draped oaks, while taking in pine woods, palm hammocks and possible sightings of wildlife, along the race route.

• Race T-Shirt: First 400 registrants will receive a race T-shirt.
• Finisher Medal: A Gemini Springs themed Finisher Medal to the first 400 finishers.
• Fun Activities: Enjoy music, light food, and an award ceremony.
• Welcoming Atmosphere: Walkers are welcome!

• Community Members: $25
• Volusia County Schools (VCS) Employees: Free
• VCS Employee Family Members: $10
• VCS Students: $5

NO RACE DAY REGISTRATIONS WILL BE PERMITTED! NO EXCEPTIONS!!

📅 Schedule of Events

📦 Packet Pick-Up and In-Person Registration

• Pre-race Packet Pick-up: Friday, October 18th from 4 PM to 7 PM at DeLand Administrative Complex, Board Room, 200 North Clara Ave., DeLand, FL 32720.
• Race Day: Packet pick-up on Sunday, October 20th, from 7 AM until 7:45 AM at the “Oak Tree Area”/Race Zone of the park. See map here: Gemini Springs Park.
• No Race Day Registration: Online registration and pre-race packet pick-up are highly encouraged.
• VCS Employees: Must bring their VCS issued ID to packet pick-up or in-person registration.

⏰ Race Day Details

Race Start: 8 AM

Awards Ceremony: 9:30 AM

Awards Categories: Overall, Masters, Grand Masters, and the top three finishers in 16 categories for male and 16 categories for female.

📊 Timing & Scoring

The race will be professionally scored and timed at the start and finish by Hasselmania Productions LLC. The race will be timed using disposable, electronic tags attached to the bib number. Please wear your bib number to the front, pinned at all four corners, visible, and unaltered. Results will be posted at the race and then online immediately following the race at www.RaceSmith.com.

🚗 Parking

There will be designated parking just beyond the race start/zone. You will see signs directing you to the parking.

📏 Course Information

This is not a USATF certified course: mileage is measured as accurately as possible.

🏅 Age Group Awards

• Male/Female: Masters: 40+: Grandmasters: 50+
• Top three Male/Female age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.
